This training, which is required for all mediators working in court-connected programs, focuses on helping mediators to cultivate ethical intuition, navigate conflicts of interest, and power dynamics in a mediation. The 6-hour training covers:
- Ethical Standards for mediators
- the history of the establishment of mediation within the Commonwealth
- Rules of Confidentiality that protect mediators working within the parameters of approved mediation programs.
The training includes both theory and practice, and places an emphasis on next steps for those mediators completing the training and wanting to continue their work within the field of mediation.
